Corran Ferry to Ardgour
There was a direct route available to Fort William but Komoot favoured the single track road that was accessible via ferry. Whilst I had to wait quite a while for that mode of transport, it was definitely worth it. The road was spectacularly quiet and had some excellent views of Ben Nevis! Well.. the bottom of it ?

Glenfinnan Viaduct
The weather was holding off so I thought I’d visit the Glenfinnan viaduct. It’s well popular nowadays because of Harry Potter. Whilst it’s not as good as a steam train, I saw some Super Sprinters making their way across the structure.
Rather stupidly I climbed up to the rocky viewpoint in my cycling shoes despite having trainers in my pannier bag. That was probably not my best idea really, but it looked easy at the bottom when I made my decision. The view up there was actually no better after all that faffing about.
The café was closing soon and they only had one flapjack left. Obviously it was one with fruit and seeds on because nobody would buy that when there’s a choice. A few seeds ‘fell off’ and to my surprise a cheeky robin ate them from my plate. I’d say he has big balls but I’m not sure birds have any?
Fort William
I then cycled to Fort William, where I enjoyed a Hebridean pizza from the Black Isle Brewing. I’ve got to say that the Scottish give no shits about sitting outside in the cold. Normally I’m the last one to go indoors, but it’s not the case up here. The pizza was really awesome.

My hotel room has a lot of free Scottish treats available, including a mammoth 10 fingers of shortbread. Both those and the jaffa cakes will come in handy if I need some emergency sustenance over the next couple of days.
I hope you like photos of water as there’s more to come tomorrow ?
