My name is Gary Bray and I’m a ginger bearded cyclist. I am a member of the Halifax Imperial Wheelers (Halifax Imps) Cycling Club, based in West Yorkshire.
A brief background in my introduction to cycling can be found here.
Following a cycling holiday to Mallorca in October 2020, I had to quarantine at home for fourteen days. Bored with little to do, I decided to create a cycling blog to document my 1,000 mile adventure. At the time I thought thatβd be straightforward and Iβd be done in a matter of days. Hundreds of hours later, I launched the initial version of The Ginger Bearded Cyclist in May 2021.
Since then I’ve added various other holiday blog posts to the website, including trips to Scotland and Slovenia. The ‘Rides’ section below has the vast majority of the content, mostly organised in to individual days. I hope you find some enjoyment reading through them all.
Each post on the website takes quite a lot of work on my end to get to a published state. When I’m short of time, or on a shorter trip away, my Facebook page is probably the best place to keep tabs on my whereabouts. From there you can also send me a message and/or comment on any of my posts. Let me know what you think!
